Elena Pell is an artist based in Sarasota, Florida. She paints both miniature and full-size pieces in a style that is best described as impressionistic realism and works exclusively in Acrylics. Her paintings portray scenes that are in one sense familiar but yet evoke a subtle and deeper presence. Her subject matter ranges widely from nature to people scenes. She has devoted a number of pieces to communicate a tropical "vibe" that captures the beauty of her native home of Hawaii and the dance, music, history and moods that make up the various strains of her Cuban-American heritage.

Although Elena has drawn and painted since childhood her commitment to artistic expression was further awakened by more recent life experiences. Having been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 1999 and Fuchs Corneal Dystrophy in 2005 she began to explore how she could express the ways in which her life became richer through her art. Her work attempts to communicate the subtle spiritual beauty that is infused in everday experience.

Elena's paintings have been shown in numerous local and juried exhibitions. Her paintings "Beba"and "Contra Tiempo" were selected for inclusion in "Florida Flavor" the Art Center Sarasota's 2014 statewide juried show of works from artists throughout Florida.

She sold her first painting in 2004 at a group show with her husband, Lowell Gilbertson, an established artist. Since then she has sold numerous other pieces, including two recent sales to private art collectors in Ana Maria Island and Sarasota, Florida.
